In September / October 2016, we had the amazing opportunity to travel to South Australia to interview people on country about their thoughts on the proposed State and Federal Nuclear Waste Dumps. The State proposal for an international waste dump has now been shelved, but there is still a national proposal for a low to intermediate level dump right in the middle of the Flinders Ranges... Below are a few of the responses: Regina McKenzie, Vince Coulthard, Karina Lester, Bruce Hammond, Tauto Sansbury, and Sharpie Coulthard. Vince Coulthard, Chief Executive Officer of the Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association, RNTBC and Director of Umeewarra Media, Port Augusta in South Australia, who was born in Leigh Creek and grew up in Nepabunna, South Australia speaks for country and of the legacy that nuclear has had and will have in South Australia if the proposed nuclear waste dumps go ahead.

Bruce Hammond, a Tanganakeld man, Director of Envirologix speaks for country, of the failure of successive Australian Governments over centuries, to listen and act upon the knowledge of the traditional custodians of this country. Bruce questions on whose authority are national and international consortia basing their genocidal actions with reference to the proposed nuclear dumps in South Australia.
Tauto Sansbury is an Australian Aboriginal Narungga man from the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia. He is a Delegate of the National Congress of Australia's First Peoples and the Garridja Aboriginal Cultural Consultancy. Tauto has concerns as to the way Aboriginal people have not been consulted in a culturally appropriate manner regarding proposed nuclear dumps in South Australia.
