This is the story of the Majala Wilderness Centre, in the community of Balkinjirr, in the West Kimberley region of Western Australia, and of all the people who have been working tirelessly to build the Majala Wilderness Centre, a place for retreats, education and sharing culture for all. In August 2008 I returned to the Kimberley to make a film with Nyikina people about the construction of the Majala Wilderness Centre, a facility built at the Balkinjirr Community, to provide a space for learning, education, sharing culture and retreats for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. This is the story of the people involved in this community vision.
